Yet Another Reason to Switch to Google Reader

I switched from Bloglines to Google Reader last fall, and haven't looked back since [Ed. note: If you don't know what a feed reader is yet, here's RSS explained the Oprah way.  If you want to know why I switched from Bloglines to Google Reader, read this explanation by Lifehacker editor Gina Trapani].

I've been thrilled with the switch, and even more now that you can view Youtube videos (and plenty of others) through Google Reader, no click thru required. 

Case in point: if you're reading this post through Google Reader, you can just watch the hilarious David Sedaris clip below; otherwise, you'll have to click through.  Here's hoping the others catch up.

Snap.com Previews: Yea or Nay?

I've been getting a lot of hits from people googling "snap.com preview annoying."  To my great amusement (and shame), that search query takes them to the only post I've ever done with Snap.com previews.  Ah, well.

The issue's popped up elsewhere: K-Style had a reader feedback post on the previews, now deleted, and blogging heavyweight Kottke's posted on "How to disable the stupid Snap Preview things that are popping up on everyone's sites these days" (via not martha).

I'm divided.  I think, for certain link-heavy posts like the one above, the Snap.com previews are great (if you're interested in isolating previews to a few posts, here's instructions: 1, 2).  At the same time, previews for an entire site get irritating.  What do you think?
