Street Fashion Photos
UPDATE: Style Bytes has an excellent set of street fashion links.
Lydia is that friend who can wear anything and look cool. She heaps on inexpensive, brightly colored layers, none of which work by themselves, sprinkles some fairy dust, and poof, she's convinced you and anyone else who sees her that orange is the new black, and neon yellow sweaters so go with aquamarine broom skirts. She even pulls off 80s-style leggings.
While most of us should never attempt such stunts, street style, the style of others, is a great source of inspiration (and entertainment). Check out these sites for ideas:
- Flickr StreetFashion: All Flickr images with the StreetFashion tag.
- HEL LOOKS: Street fashion in Helsinki, recommended by eco-fashion blog fiftyRX3. Beautiful site.
- Japanese Streets: Hard to navigate, but good photos.
- London Street Fashion: Clever home page (designed like a tube map). Nice photos.
- Look Book Archive (New York Magazine): The archive for the popular column.
- The Sartorialist: Elegant New York street style, little commentary.
- StyleDiary: Little commentary, decent site. Readers can submit their own photos (registration required).
- Tokyo Street Style: Great site with weekly updates. Photos organized by neighborhood.
In addition, here are two Asian street wear shops that ship internationally:
- Onatoko: Some cute clothes, but most interesting are the Japanese beauty products.
- AsiaJam: Worth looking at for the crazy designs, all ridiculously cheap. God knows how they're made.
